frequently asked questions

Answers to some of the common wedding photography questions I get asked

Q - How many weddings do you photograph a year?

A - I aim to photograph approximately 30 weddings a year. Each wedding requires a certain amount of time invested in post production to ensure the product I deliver is to the standard with which I am happy. This number of weddings enables me to do justice to each of the clients I work with.

Q - How did you get in to wedding photography?

A - Having spent a career in marketing & advertising for several household named branded companies I grew tired of the corporate life. As a very keen and active photographer the logical choice was to leave the corporate world behind and focus on doing something I was passionate about. All I can say about making that change a while back is that I wish I had done it sooner!

Q - Are you fully insured and covered legally to photograph our wedding?

A - I am fully insured for Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Equipment insurance meaning I am fully covered to photograph your wedding

Q - What equipment do you use?

A - I shoot with the latest mirrorless Nikon Z series equipment. This industry leading equipment means I can capture all imagery in 45 megapixel definition (meaning you could print your images up to billboard size if you fancied!), but using smaller & lighter camera bodies than typically used. This means I’m less obtrusive and obvious on the day, and can be faster or more reactive to capture those spontaneous moments. I also shoot with multiple cameras during a wedding to safeguard against any unforeseen equipment failure (which hasn’t happened).

Q - What areas do you cover?

A - I am based in Bedfordshire and shoot within the neighbouring and nearby counties - Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, London & Greater London, Cambridgeshire, Berkshire. But am happy to discuss your wedding whether it may be in the UK or overseas, there just might be additional charges for transport and accommodation depending on the destination.

Q - How many pictures will I get from our wedding?

A - Every wedding is different so its difficult to put an exact number on delivered images, but typically the number will range between 350 - 500 images.

Q - How quickly will I get my photographs

A - My aim is to ensure I deliver as many high quality images to you as possible, and as such I invest a large amount of time in the post production of each wedding I shoot. Therefore I endeavour to deliver all retouched and finalised images from your day within 6 weeks from the date of the wedding, although this can sometimes be longer in peak season.

Q - What is included in your package cost?

A - As no two weddings are the same, I tailor my packages to suit the needs of each client. But packages always include 10 hours of coverage on the day, a pre-meet to discuss plans either at home or at your venue (Skype if circumstances don’t allow for a face to face meeting) and all final images fully post produced, supplied digitally. Other elements such as extended shooting time, second photographer, albums and replica albums (please see my blog article about album choices for more info on these) can be incorporated into packages to suit the specific needs of each client.

Q - Do you work with a second photographer?

A - Yes, I have a number of colleagues who will work alongside me as a second photographer on the day. A second photographer is a great way to ensure as much of your day is captured and is particularly useful for larger weddings.

Q - Do you also offer videography?

A - Yes, I can include videography as part of a wedding package. Although I focus on photography myself, I work with a number of incredibly talented partners who specialise in videography.
